Nibiru

The Austrian region of Kamptal, just next to Weinviertel, is best known for its Rieslings and Grüner Veltlieners. The Nibiru winery consists of Julia Nather and Josef Schenter, a couple brought together by wine. Josef´s family owned a farm in the Kamptal region for three generations and his father decided to convert it entirely to a wine-making business. Josef studied to become a winemaker in his home country as well as abroad, and tries to bring his experiences into their wines. He joined with Julia, a certified sommelier who graduated from agriculture school specialising in orcharding, and established their brand Nibiru,its name originating in Sumerian mythology.

All their wines are spontaneous, the usage of sulphur is reduced to the minimum and mostly mature in old oak barrels. They are bottled unfiltered and sealed with a natural cork. You get wines made with precision, mirroring their regionality and local conditions.
